A-Data reports sales growth for February 2010

Monday, March 08, 2010

A-Data Technology saw its February 201 revenues affected by fewer working days, but still enjoyed growth of over 50% compared to a year earlier.

A-Data reported revenues of NT$3.2 billion (US$100 million) for February 2010, down 13.5% on month but up 50.5% on year. Revenues for the first two months of the year amounted to NT$6.89 billion, a 80.3% gain from NT$3.82 billion posted for the same period of 2009.

DRAM modules accounted for 57.7% of A-Data's February sales, while NAND flash-based devices made up the remainder. Sales generated from DRAM products were NT$1.85 billion in February, down slightly from the prior month's NT$1.9 billion. Meanwhile, the NAND flash segment slid to NT$1.35 billion in the month from NT$1.79 billion in January.

A-Data noted orders for DRAM modules and NAND flash products have both picked up since the last week of February, implying customers are restocking after impressive sales during the Lunar New Year holiday. Orders from system OEMs have also returned, A-Data added.

A-Data now expects March revenues to register a substantial increase compared to February levels.
