Taiwan first-tier motherboard makers Asustek Computer, Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) have all seen on-month drops in their February 2010 revenues.

Asustek saw revenues decline 10.11% sequentially to NT$20.4 billion (US$640.92 million) in February, while growth was 53.17% compared to the same month a year ago. The company's combined revenues for the first two months of 2010 increased 97.47% on year to NT$43.09 billion.

Asustek is expected to see a less than 10% revenue decline in the first quarter as both China's labor shortages and the company's inventory management are improving.

Asustek is expected to ship 5.5 million motherboards, 2.2-2.4 million notebooks and 1.7-1.9 million netbooks in the first quarter, according to market watchers.

Gigabyte posted revenues of NT$4.19 billion for February, down 23.84% on month, but up 7.44% on year. The company's combined revenues for the first two months of 2010 reached NT$9.69 billion, up 28.76% on year.

Gigabyte shipped 1.4-1.6 million motherboards and 200,000-250,000 graphics cards in February.

MSI announced revenues of NT$6.86 billion for February, down 6.48% on month, but up 16.35% on year. The company's combined revenues in the first two months of 2010 reached NT$14.2 billion, up 21.62% on year.
